The Walnut Beach Association is an organization of residents and businesses located in the beautiful section of Milford around Walnut Beach. The association is a way for the community to come together and enjoy the neighborhood and find ways to make it better.
Your voice is important, and the association can help amplify it so that we have a more direct way to make sure the Milford government hears us and understands our concerns. From issues with infrastructure and beautification to parking concerns and other issues that may arise, we are stronger together.
The WBA meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Firehouse Art Gallery at 7:00 PM. These meetings are open to all members of the association and provide a forum for ideas that any member may have to add to the beauty of our neighborhood. All members are invited, and all ideas will be listened to. These meetings do create a lot of things we love about Walnut Beach. From our concerts and WBA Arts Festival, to the Cornhole Tournament as well as constant beautification of the neighborhood, the WBA has been a major part of making this such a desired location.
The Joe Garbus WBA Scholarship Fund provides 3 scholarships to seniors from Jonathan Law High School to help them continue their education. These are provided to students in three areas:
1. Community Service 2. Environmental Concerns 3. The Arts
The WBA has been a contributor to other non-profits throughout Milford. In the past the WBA has donated to Milford Senior Center, Milford Animal Center, Beth El Shelter, and many more.
Please consider joining if you are not already a member. If you are a member please come to the next meeting and even if you don’t want to speak, learn more about your neighbors and get to know a few more people in Walnut Beach. Membership is $15 for a whole year, and this gives you the ability to help make your neighborhood continue to shine!
