At our January 2025 meeting we heard ideas for a planned Coastal Dune Protection System for the area From 8th Ave. Eastward to the Pier at Walnut Beach. The plans are not final and there are a lot of steps remaining to get this project done, but it is agreed that something must be done to protect and keep Walnut and Wildemere beaches beautiful and safe. No project is perfect and there will be disputes moving forward with this plan, but let’s not allow the pursuit of perfection get in the way of the good. Please review the Letter of Declaration which may be submitted at February’s meeting or by emailing or mailing the WBA a copy. This project will do a lot of good for our area, however there may be differing opinions, so please read the letter carefully when choosing to sign. It’s my position that the more signatures we receive the better the chances to save our beaches.
